The MakeUpNU is a student packaging design contest. Packaging students placed 1st and 3rd place for 2015. As part of the competition, students had to create a new packaging design, and then submit a video See the video below for the winning results:

The Fifth Annual Rutgers Packaging Engineering Career and Fundraising Night will be on Thursday, October 29th. The night will begin with our Annual Meet and Greet session held in the Cove in the Busch Campus Center, beginning at 5:30 PM, after we will have our Banquet at the Multi-Purpose Room at 7:00 PM. This event is held for students and our industry supporters to learn and collaborate with the Packaging Engineering Program. This is going to be another vibrant and exciting evening. Hope you will join us.

The 48 Hour Repack is a student design repackaging challenge. Packaging students placed in the top 10 of competitors for 2015 with their redesign of the band-aid package. Working as a team the students created a packaging solution to adhering a band-aid with one hand. As part of the competition, teams not only had to identify a "bad packaging" scenario, envision and create a redesign, and then submit a video. See the video below for the winning results:

For the second year in a row, a team of four packaging engineering students -- Miles Borgeson, Ann Cierpial, Melissa Lekulitch, and William Kim -- placed first in the annual PACK Expo Solutions Challenge, held this year on November 6th in Chicago, Illinois. Hosted by the trade association Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI), the competition provided students with the opportunity to put their engineering skills to the test as well as network with over 650 packaging companies from the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

With all the splendor of a peacock displaying its feathers, Rutgers Day gave the Packaging Engineering Program an occasion to exhibit its’ recent growth and all the opportunities it offers prospective students. Music blared and grilled BBQ steam filled Busch campus’ air as aspiring engineering students eagerly asked questions at each table. Toddlers signaled their presence with bright red Rutgers balloons while parents guided their children through tutorials offered by engineering students.

This past month in the 48-Hour Repack, Rutgers Packaging Engineering Program students competed with students across the country to solve a specific packaging problem in 48 hours by designing, creating, printing and assembling an innovative package. The competition challenges them to work under intense pressure, iron out differences in their team dynamic and employ various engineering techniques.
